4:24pm: Shares have enjoyed another day of gains, despite further weakness in some stricken energy stocks, as big banks and miners pushed higher. The ASX 200 closed 47 points, or 0.9 per cent, higher at 5368.8, while the All Ords advanced 44 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 5345.4. The big four banks continued to receive support from investors ahead of the Murray inquiry report, released Sunday. Westpac was the best, up 1.7 per cent, followed by ANZ (1.4 per cent), NAB (1.2 per cent) and CBA (0.8 per cent). BHP gained 1.5 per cent, and Rio 2.1 per cent.
